What is Anonymous follow-up?
Anonymous follow-up allows authorised users to ask a follow-up question to survey comments directly from the People Insight platform.
Sometimes a survey comment highlights an important issue but does not provide enough information to fully understand what happened or what action should be taken. Anonymous follow-up helps users gather additional information while maintaining participant anonymity.
Starting a conversation and using Anonymous follow-up
When viewing a survey comment, authorised users can select Anonymous follow-up to send a follow-up question.
The conversation remains connected to the original survey question and comment, helping maintain context throughout the discussion.
Survey participant experience
Once a follow-up question has been sent, the participant receives a secure email or SMS invitation to respond.
Participants can:
View the follow-up question
See the name and role of the person asking the question
Choose whether they would like to reply
Respond without creating an account or signing in
Replying anonymously is optional.
Maintaining anonymity
Anonymous follow-up is designed to protect participant anonymity.
The participant remains anonymous to the user throughout the conversation, while still allowing additional information to be shared when the anonymityt hreshold has been met.

All follow-up conversations remain linked to the original survey comment.

Feature eligibility
Anonymous follow-up is only available to authorised users.
To protect anonymity, Anonymous follow-up can only be used on comments that meet the platform's anonymity threshold. The default anonymity threshold for comments is 10 respondents, meaning follow-up on comments will only be available where anonymity requirements have been satisfied.
