Dashboard Permissions Matrix: Features & Filters

Updated this week

Overview

The Permissions Matrix allows you to control both:

  • Feature access (what users can do)

  • Filter visibility (what data users can see)

You can switch between these using the Mode toggle:

  • Features

  • Filters

Accessing the Permissions Matrix

  1. Go to Survey Dashboards

  2. Locate your dashboard

  3. Click Permissions matrix

Switching Between Features and Filters

At the top of the page, use the Mode dropdown to toggle between:

  • Features – manage access to reports and functionality

  • Filters – control data visibility (e.g. Department, Directorate, Team)

Both modes work in the same way.

  • Opens the Edit Selected Dashboard Users modal

Step 3: Make Changes

In the modal:

  • Choose the feature or filter to update

  • Set the new value

  • Click Save

Changes will apply to all selected users.

Important Notes

Bulk Editing Rules

  • You can edit multiple users at once

  • Changes apply to all selected users

  • Validation prevents mixing incompatible selections (e.g. grouped vs non-grouped users)

Updating Multiple Filters

  • Each filter must be updated separately

  • Example:

    1. Update Contract Type → Save

    2. Reopen → Update Cost Code → Save

Customising the View

Use the Column Chooser (top right) to:

  • Show or hide columns (e.g. Role, User, Group, filters)

  • Simplify the view for editing or sharing
